Biography

Brittney Williams is a Senior Counsel in the Houston and Los Angles Offices whose practice primarily focuses on labor and employment law.  Specifically, Brittney provides a full range of labor and employment law services, including pre-termination counseling, Equal Employment Opportunity training, employee handbook review, leaves of absence and reduction in force advice, as well as drafts policies and employment-related agreements.  Additionally, she provides litigation defense before administrative agencies, and in state and federal court for labor and employment disputes, including, but not limited to disputes involving employment contracts, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.  

During law school, Brittney served as judicial clerk for an administrative law judge at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and as a law clerk for the National Labor Relations Board, Region 31.

  • Obtained a dismissal on all causes of action (Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress, Violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Negligence, and Respondent Superior) pursuant to a TRCP Rule 91a Motion to Dismiss, and a judgment for attorneys’ fees and costs.
  • Obtained a favorable outcome to defendant's (employer) motion to dismiss pursuant to the Texas Citizens Participation Act, Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (Anti- SLAPP).
  • Obtained a dismissal on all causes of action (Sexual Harassment, Dangerous Work Environment, and Violations of Break Times) pursuant to a TRCP Rule 91a Motion to Dismiss.
  • Obtained a denial of defendant’s (employee) motion to dismiss pursuant to the Texas Citizens Participation Act.
  • Obtained favorable defense rulings against administrative actions brought by charging parties before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission.
