Biography
Rachel Cooper focuses her practice on privacy and cybersecurity matters, advising clients on compliance with data protection and privacy laws, including GDPR COPPA HIPAA, TCPA, FTC Act and CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy laws. She also has significant experience providing counsel on FTC consent orders and regulatory actions. Rachel has experience with drafting applicable disclosures, privacy policies and operational controls, as well as guiding clients on building and implementing their privacy compliance programs across all stages of the development lifecycle. She also assists clients with drafting and interpreting technology-related contracts, including insertion orders, service provider addendums and data protection agreements/addendums.
Rachel is highly knowledgable in identifying and remediating potential data security incidents. She works with variety of clients and third parties, including forensics investigative firms, insurance underwriters and law enforcement authorities to contain incidents investigate their cause and impact, and deliver public and regulatory communications on behalf of clients. She has also worked on breach preparedness, including information security governance and risk management and counselling c-suite executives and boards of directors on cybersecurity matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Rachel served as in-house counsel at a multinational technology conglomerate, a fortune ten Healthcare company and a large retailer.
