Biography
Lance Bremer’s practice encompasses a range of commercial litigation matters, including oil and gas disputes, contract disputes, insurance coverage issues and products liability suits. In addition to representing clients in the state and federal courts of Texas, Oklahoma, California and Louisiana, Lance also has substantial experience in domestic and international arbitrations under the auspices of the AAA, ICC, LCIA, ICDR and FINRA.
Lance is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

- Obtained complete defense verdict for manufacturer of piping components in AAA arbitration regarding the failure of a piping component in a large power plant. Following a five-day arbitration hearing, the arbitration panel ruled unanimously in favor of piping manufacturer and rejected claimant’s damages claims in their entirety.
- Represented an oil field services company in dispute regarding tool rental agreements. Case settled during appeal of verdict from four-day trial.
- Following a four-day jury trial, obtained full recovery of damages, plus attorney’s fees, for construction contractor in dispute regarding oral changes to the scope of work.
- Represented restaurant franchisor in series of disputes with investors regarding ownership and operation of restaurants.
- Represented real estate broker in a multi-jurisdiction dispute regarding business and personal relationships. Successfully resolved following multiple trials and appeals.
- Represented oil field services company in dispute with competitor alleging stolen trade secrets. Dispute resolved without litigation.
- Represented general contractor in dispute regarding faulty construction of luxury apartment complex. Favorably resolved dispute on day trial was scheduled to begin.
- Represented oil field services company in multiple efforts to enforce non-compete and confidentiality agreements against ex-employees who were looking to take company information to competitors.
- Represented construction company in multiple disputes and a trial regarding construction issues and projects.
- Represented co-owner of a small business in a management dispute with multinational company over the operation of the business, including allegations of mismanagement and breach of fiduciary duty. Case settled after one day of trial.
- Represented shareholder in business valuation dispute.
- Assisted with representation of manufacturing company obtaining insurance coverage. Texas Supreme Court opinion found insurance coverage for manufacturing company after the company provided allegedly defective products to a refinery and was sued for damages associated with the replacement of the supplied products. Insurer had previously denied coverage.
- Obtained complete defense award, including the recovery of all defense fees and expenses, in an expedited AAA arbitration concerning the intent and interpretation of a contractual area of mutual interest (AMI) provision in a joint-venture agreement; plaintiff sought the conveyance of property interests or, alternatively, damages for the alleged failure to convey property interests that it valued in excess of US$300 million.
- Defended an independent oil and gas exploration company in an ICC arbitration hearing arising from an agreement with a third-party business consultant; plaintiff was awarded no damages after alleging fraud, anticipatory repudiation and breach of contract, and seeking actual and punitive damages or more than US$700 million.
