United States Press release - People January 2025

Norton Rose Fulbright counsel Kelly Atherton (Minneapolis) has been appointed as a Steering Committee member for The Sedona Conference (TSC) Working Group 1, which focuses on electronic document retention and production.

TSC Working Group 1 is one of the most respected think tanks in eDiscovery, addressing some of the most challenging and contentious issues facing the field today. Working Group 1 plays a critical role in shaping guidance, principles and best practices that influence eDiscovery in the context of litigation, dispute resolution and investigations.

Steering Committee members act as liaisons to current drafting items, reviewing work product before it is presented to the membership. They also plan and participate in the semi-annual full membership meetings and help set priorities for future projects.

Appointees are selected for their subject matter knowledge, ability to facilitate dialogue and achieve consensus, history of significant contributions to Working Group 1 efforts and demonstrated commitment to TSC’s mission.

Kelly’s appointment is a testament to her deep proficiency and thought leadership in eDiscovery and information governance. She has been an active member of the Sedona Conference Working Group Series since 2017. Her appointment, which began January 1, 2025, is for three years.

TSC is a non-profit research and educational institute with a mission to move the law forward through the creation and publication of non-partisan consensus commentaries and advanced legal education. TSC’s commentaries are the most cited non-judicial publications in US judicial opinions, underscoring their significant influence on the development of law and best practices in this area.
