Profiles in Diversity Journal selects Jamila Mensah as a 2023 Black Leadership Award recipient

Houston partner Jamila S. Mensah has been honored with Profiles in Diversity Journal's Black Leadership Award.
This international award recognizes those who have led the way to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace and the community by mentorship, advocacy and service.
As Co-Chair of the Racial Equity Council, which works to identify improvements for recruiting, retaining and promoting Black lawyers and Business Services personnel, Mensah has been instrumental in launching initiatives to make meaningful change within the firm. She is also a developmental partner at the firm, providing associates with a dedicated source of support and guidance, and serves on the Houston Hiring Committee and the Partnership Committee.
Mensah is an employment and labor lawyer with extensive experience in discrimination, retaliation and wage and hour issues. She represents clients in federal and state court and before administrative bodies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
The Black Leadership Award recipients will be profiled in the magazine's upcoming fourth quarter issue available in December.
Published since 1999, Profiles in Diversity Journal is a quarterly publication dedicated to "promoting and advancing diversity, inclusion, and equity in the corporate, government, nonprofit, STEM and higher education sectors."
