Projects team assists Fengate in acquisition of 160 MW Prairie Switch Wind project and PPA with Meta

United States Press release - Business November 4, 2022

A multi-office team of projects lawyers from Norton Rose Fulbright represented Fengate in its acquisition of the ready-to-build 160 MW Prairie Switch Wind project from Triple Oak Power. The team is now working with Fengate on the financing of the project.

As part of the deal, Fengate and Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta) signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the sale of 100 percent of the project's production, which will provide wind energy to support Meta's operations.

Located in Wharton County outside of Houston, Texas, the project will be built with 48 of GE Renewable Energy's 3.4 MW wind turbines and is projected to be fully operational by the end of 2023. When complete, it will generate millions of dollars of tax and lease payments for the county without interrupting current ranching and farming operations.

Norton Rose Fulbright's deal team was led by Becky Diffen (Austin) and Megan Savage (Houston) and included Madison Keeble, Emily Meier (Austin), Josh Morton (Houston), Christine Fernandez Owen, Jamal E. Abdulrasheed (Chicago), Hilary Lefko (Washington, DC), Gabrielle Jacques, Lee Gordon, Namratha Minupuri (New York), Bob Greenslade (Denver) and Jared Kaplan (Chicago and New York). Ben Koenigsberg (New York) and Rachel Rosenfeld (Washington, DC) are leading the financing and Kat Gamache (Houston) led the PPA negotiations.
