Norton Rose Fulbright advises Nauticus Robotics in its agreement to acquire SeaTrepid

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised Nauticus Robotics, Inc. (Nauticus), a developer of autonomous subsea robotics and software, in its asset acquisition of subsea robotic services provider SeaTrepid International, LLC (SeaTrepid).

Headquartered in Southeastern Louisiana, SeaTrepid serves the oil and gas and deepwater exploration industries with a variety of remotely operated vehicles (ROV), including one of the largest fleets of Outland 1000 ROV systems in the United States.

The acquisition will accelerate Nauticus’ growth in the Gulf Coast region while extending and enhancing its service capabilities worldwide. Nauticus will integrate its AI-driven autonomy software into SeaTrepid’s ROV fleet, increasing power efficiency and operational performance.

Valued at US$16 million, the transaction closed on March 20, 2025. The combined company will begin operations as Nauticus Robotics immediately.

Nauticus develops robotic systems, vehicles and components for both the commercial and defense business sectors. It has designed and is currently testing and certifying a new generation of vehicles to reduce operational cost and gather data to maintain and operate a wide variety of subsea infrastructure.
