Ryan Manns named ‘Attorney of the Year’ by Texas Lawyer

US Co-Head of Restructuring Ryan E. Manns has been named "Attorney of the Year" by Texas Lawyer's 2023 Professional Excellence Awards.
This prestigious award honors the lawyer who had the biggest impact on the law or the Texas legal community or did the most to advance the cause of justice in 2022.
As Co-Chair of the firm's Racial Equity Council (the REC) with Jamila S. Mensah, Manns plays an integral role in furthering its mission to enhance the experience of the firm's Black lawyers and nonlawyer personnel. The REC also supports racial equity for all firm personnel.
The REC's initiatives, such as the comprehensive sponsorship program, have positively impacted the firm's recruitment, retention, development and advancement of Black personnel. For example, since 2020, the number of Black partners at the firm has increased by 71 percent and the number of Black non-partner lawyers has doubled.
Manns' practice involves representing public and private corporations, boards of directors, management teams, creditor constituencies and purchasers of financially distressed assets in complex business restructuring matters, both inside and outside of court. He has counseled clients in a variety of industries, including energy, healthcare, telecommunications, real estate and media. He also advises clients in connection with cross-border restructurings.
