United States Press release - People December 2023

Norton Rose Fulbright lawyer Eamonn Moran has been named co-chair of the New York City Bar Association's (City Bar) Task Force on Digital Technologies’ recently established Subcommittee on Digital Technologies Consumer Protection.

The Task Force brings together industry leaders to engage on issues involving recently developed and emerging technologies. Members across 14 different subcommittees track, analyze and report on developments in digital technology and make recommendations to policymakers on best practices and regulatory oversight.

As co-chair, Moran will help lead the development of timely thought leadership pieces, including articles, blogs, reports and other writings, on issues involving digital technologies consumer protection and collaborate with representatives of other City Bar committees when their areas of responsibility overlap. The subcommittee will also conduct research, host seminars and webinars and record podcasts on digital technologies consumer protection issues.

In his legal practice, Moran leverages his experience as a former counsel in the Office of Regulations at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to guide clients in complying with state and federal consumer protection laws and regulations. He also provides regulatory legal services for companies in the fintech and financial services industries, evolving his practice as clients adopt new technologies and pursue innovative business lines. He has extensive experience handling the regulatory aspects of a broad range of payment services and technologies, spanning traditional systems and cutting-edge payments products. Along with handling matters involving mobile payments and mobile wallet products, Eamonn advises on novel issues connected to blockchain and digital assets.

Moran joins partners Stephen Aschettino and Robert A. Schwinger in serving as co-chairs on City Bar subcommittees.
