The Alliance for Asian American Justice makes 2022 Gold House A100 list
United States | Press release - People | June 2022
The Alliance for Asian American Justice, co-founded by Los Angeles partner Brian Sun, has been recognized as one of the most impactful groups for Asian and Pacific Islanders over the past year by AAPI advocate group Gold House. The Alliance was named to the group’s influential A100 List for 2022, which honors the 100 Asians and Pacific Islanders who had the most impact on culture and society over the past year.
The Alliance, of which Norton Rose Fulbright is a charter member, is a national pro bono initiative committed to standing up for victims and preventing future acts of anti-Asian hate. It was founded in 2021 after Sun and some of his contemporaries became alarmed and disturbed over the increase in verbal and physical assaults on Asian Americans.
The Alliance has grown to include allies at over 90 large law firms located in every major metropolis in the country as well as a group of supporting general counsel of Fortune 1000 companies. It is a registered not-for-profit entity managed by its five founding members, including Sun, who also comprise the board of directors. The Alliance also works with numerous advocacy organizations, including Asian Americans Advancing Justice, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund and NAPABA to help with the intake of pro bono matters.
Sun represented the Alliance at the recent Gold Gala, where the A100 honorees were recognized. Culled from public nominations, other honorees include A-list creatives, athletes, executives, top API nonprofits and iconic multicultural pioneers.
Sun, a seasoned trial lawyer, has been honored with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association's Trailblazer Award, the National Diversity Council's Multicultural Leadership Award and the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association's Lifetime Achievement Award.
