Steven Jansma honored as "Distinguished Alumnus" by St. Mary’s University

US Head of Litigation and Disputes Steven Jansma was named among the 2024 Distinguished Alumni by the St. Mary’s University Alumni Association.
Jansma graduated cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Mary’s in 1989, and has been recognized with numerous professional honors and recognitions for his work with the university since.
At the firm, Jansma (San Antonio) oversees 330 litigation and disputes lawyers across ten teams. He has a national practice defending mass tort and complex product liability disputes, and has served as national and regional coordinating counsel and lead trial counsel for numerous Fortune 500 companies in multi-district litigation, class actions and product liability cases.
While a student at St. Mary’s University, Jansma was a member of multiple student organizations including the Sigma Beta Chi Fraternity. Jansma was an All-Conference goalkeeper and forward for the St. Mary’s Rattler soccer team, which earned him an induction into the University’s Athletics Hall of Fame.
Jansma has remained involved with St. Mary’s, serving as President of the University's Alumni Association and on the University's Board of Trustees. He also established the Jansma Family Scholarship for the university, and in 2013, he was named as the first recipient of the “President's Gateway Award for Advancement” in recognition of his fundraising efforts for the school.
The 2024 Distinguished Alumni were honored at an award ceremony held at St. Mary’s on April 2, 2024.
