Biography
Dr Jens Steger is an antitrust, competition & regulatory lawyer based in Frankfurt. Jens advises multinational and German or Swiss companies and associations on a broad spectrum of antitrust law and merger control, in particular cartel damage litigations, international cartel cases, robust compliance systems and audits as well as international transactions and joint ventures. He also has a focus on commercial litigation as well as on broader regulatory matters.
Jens has particular experience in the automotive, aviation, food manufacturing, pharma, retail and financial institutions industries.
He is a frequent speaker and commentator on antitrust & competition law developments.
Prior to joining the firm with his team, Jens lead the antitrust practices of a major US law firm in Frankfurt.
Professional experience
Collapse allJens has studied law at the University of Bonn. He holds a doctoral degree in antitrust & competition law from the University of Cologne. He obtained a Master in competition law at King’s College London and worked at the German Bundeskartellamt as well as the first cartel senate at the Higher Regional Court in Düsseldorf during his two-year traineeship.

- Advising a former cartelist in the “acoustically effective component cartel” against antitrust follow-on actions brought by customers;*
- Advising a former cartelist in the “beer cartel” against antitrust follow-on actions brought by customers;*
- Advising different multinational companies on state of the art international compliance management systems;*
- Advising Monsanto regarding ex-US merger clearances in the acquisition by Bayer;*
- Defending a client on Geo-Blocking allegations by German regulators;*
- Advising on several different merger control proceedings before the German Bundeskartellamt as well as the European Commission.*
