Biography
Alexandra is a dual qualified (EU/UK) competition lawyer and Head of our Brussels practice. She advises clients on a broad range of EU and national law issues, including cross-border merger control, dawn raids and investigations, and competition compliance. She has represented companies and trade associations in an array of sectors including energy, telecommunications, technology, consumer goods/manufacturing and banking as well as private equity firms.
Alexandra regularly supports clients in merger control proceedings before the European Commission and the UK competition authority, including in complex cases requiring divestitures. She also assists clients to obtain approval from the European Commission when purchasing assets divested as part of the EU merger procedure. Alexandra also advises clients on the Foreign Subsidies Regulation and the Digital Markets Act as well as other EU regulatory matters.
Alexandra has a significant track record of defending and advising clients in major international cartel investigations in areas such as power cables, ball bearings and Euribor derivatives. Her experience also includes handling litigation before the EU Courts as well as defending follow-on damages actions in various EU Member States.
Alexandra also advises clients on the application of antitrust rules to intellectual property rights, horizontal and vertical agreements, and abuse of dominance issues.

- Avast - in its $8bn dollar acquisition by NortonLifeLock, which was unconditionally cleared in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, the USA and also by the UK CMA following an in-depth phase 2 investigation.*
- Angelini, a major Italian pharmaceutical company - to achieve approval from the European Commission for its purchase of assets following the creation of a JV between GSK and Pfizer.*
