Norton Rose Fulbright’s Lynn Yang recognised in 2020 ALB China Top 15 Female Lawyers

Norton Rose Fulbright’s Shanghai partner Lynn Yang has been recognised in the Top 15 Asian Legal Business (ALB) China female lawyers. Every year, ALB China magazine recognises 15 outstanding female lawyers for their exceptional achievements in the legal sector.

With over 20 years’ experience, Lynn is a senior practitioner focusing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and reorganisation of investment portfolios in China in a wide range of sectors, including insurance and asset management. Lynn has been ranked as Leading lawyer for Insurance and Reinsurance - Who’s Who Legal, China from 2015 to 2020, and has been recognised as Stand-Out Talent in China in Acritas Stars Survey from 2019-2020. She was also the Ex-Vice Chair of the Insurance Working Committee of the European Chambers of Commerce in Shanghai.

Lynn has advised on a number of major projects in China’s financial institution sector over the past decade, including many “first of its kind” transactions:

• advising a leading international banking group’s buy-out of its life insurance joint venture in China, which will become the first wholly foreign owned life insurance company in China (Shanghai) Free Trade Zone upon completion, since China’s removal of foreign ownership restrictions on foreign-funded life insurance companies effective on 1 January 2020;
• advising a leading international insurance group’s establishment of its insurance asset management subsidiary in Shanghai, making it the first foreign invested insurance asset management company in China; and
• advising a leading international banking group’s launching of its first wholly-owned FinTech services company in China (Shanghai) Free-Trade Zone, which is one of the first wholly foreign-owned FinTech services companies of its kind in China facilitating the proposed distribution of various financial products.
