Biography
Jérémie Moisan-De Serres, a business law associate in our Montreal office, practices securities and M&A law, with a particular focus on financial institutions and financial intermediaries. In this capacity, he advises clients on regulatory matters, financial products and services, corporate governance and risk management.
Prior to joining the firm, Jérémie worked for six years for the Autorité des marchés financiers (Quebec's securities regulator) as a senior analyst with the Investment Funds branch and the Oversight of Intermediaries branch. During this period, he was involved in a number of files relating to the registration of securities firms, mergers and acquisitions, exemptive relief and non-compliance issues, as well as files concerning the disclosure obligations of registered companies and reporting issuers, governance, cryptoassets, sustainable finance and liquidity risk management. He has handled a wide variety of financial products, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and private funds, investing in several asset types such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, real estate and infrastructure. In addition, he has served on a number of national committees with the Canadian Securities Administrators for the development and application of regulation in Canada.
Prior to joining the Autorité des marchés financiers, Jérémie worked for three years in the financial sector as a consultant in forensic accounting and mergers and acquisitions for an international consulting firm.
