Biography
Uzmah Yunis is a financial services lawyer based in London. She has a particular focus on asset management and covers a breadth of work including advising discretionary investment and fund managers, depositaries, fund administration and custodian agents, investment platforms, financial intermediaries, and all types of investors (institutional to retail) on UK and European legal and regulatory matters.
Uzmah also has experience in private equity and debt capital markets and has advised on fund raising pitchbooks and the marketing and distribution of funds globally. Uzmah has material experience in implementing internal product governance and oversight arrangements within financial institutions.
Prior to joining NRF, Uzmah trained and qualified with an international law firm and has substantial in-house experience in her previous roles as General Counsel for the European hub of a global asset manager and as a senior legal advisor to the funds and investments team of a major Swiss Insurance house and an occupational pension provider. Uzmah has also headed regulatory advisory teams in global investment banks.
