Norton Rose Fulbright advises RiverStone International on property and casualty insurance acquisition

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised run off insurance specialist RiverStone International on its proposed corporate acquisition of Endurance at Lloyd’s (EAL) from Sompo International, a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance.
The acquisition remains subject to the customary regulatory approvals for a transaction of this type.
RiverStone International is an industry-leading acquirer and reinsurer of legacy and discontinued insurance business.
Sompo International is a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property, and casualty reinsurance. The transaction represents a key step in Sompo’s strategic restructuring of its UK businesses.
The team was led by London-based corporate insurance partner Matt Foster and included counsel Matt O’Shea, and associate Angus Graham Watson, supported by trainees Ben Doble and Emma Borch. Employment advice was provided by partner Catrina Smith and senior associate Ben Wright, tax advice was provided by partner Michael Alliston and senior associate Kyle Rainsford, and data protection advice was provided by partner Marcus Evans. The team was further supported by senior consultant David Whear.
