Junior Candidate Civil-Law Notary
Have you recently completed, or are close to finishing your degree in Notarial Law? If you are looking for a career in law with an office who will support you, this could be the role for you!
In this three year programme, you will attend post graduate notarial education (Beroesopleiding Notariaat), as well as legal training at our Amsterdam office.
What else will this role offer you?
In our Notarial department, you will be supported by our Civil Law Notary, Counsel and other Candidate Civil-Law Notaries as well as business services teams. You will gain exposure to work including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, real estate and reorganisations.
NRF has developed two excellent training courses aimed at professional development: the International Academy and the Away Days. You will meet your international colleagues during these sessions in one of our offices, providing a great opportunity to grow your professional networks.
Compensation and Benefits
Remuneration is important, and we want to reward you as you develop your career. You will receive the following.
First year salary: € 4554,- gross per month on a fulltime basis
In addition, we offer other benefits such as cost allowance, a fully paid pension plan, gym memberships discounts, home working/lunch allowance, and access to a mental wellbeing platform.
We embrace hybrid working, and offer the possibility to work from home. As Junior Candidate Civil-Law Notary, you will work in the office for at least 4 days a week, to provide and guide you with training, mentoring, and support.
Who can apply?
Our applications are always open. The start dates of the Beroepsopleiding Notariaat are in March and September, but please note that the deadlines for submission are set earlier.
To apply, you will need to have:
- A Master’s degree in Notarial Law or to receive this within a considerable time
- Experience in a law firm
- Good command of Dutch and English (spoken and written)
- An entrepreneurial mindset, ambition and to possess a decent dose of creativity, humour, and tenacity

Application process
Once your application has been reviewed, you will enter the following process:
- Interview with the HR/Recruitment team
- Two rounds of interviews with our Partners and Lawyers
- A legal case study conducted by the firm
- An assessment
During this process, we ensure that you will have informal coffee meetings with our colleagues too.
