Biography
Salvatore Iannitti is a corporate and regulatory lawyer based in Milan. He focuses on the insurance, re-insurance and financial services sectors. He is has vast experience of advising on contracts, complex regulatory issues, compliance and intermediation.
He provides 360° assistance to leading operators in the insurance sector, including Italian and foreign insurance companies and intermediaries. He has extensive experience in relation to: policy wording (commercial lines, financial lines, consumer lines), non-life and life insurance (including financial products issued by insurance companies, such as unit-linked and capitalization products), reinsurance agreements, distribution schemes (including distance and digital marketing), underlying investments of insurance companies, international programs, authorization procedures, inspection and enforcement procedures, extraordinary transactions (including M&A, Joint-Ventures, portfolio transfers), anti-money laundering, internal policies (product governance, remuneration, conflicts of interest) and privacy.
He has advised banks, financial intermediaries, investment firms, and markets, as well as other players on a number of regulatory topics, such as: consumers' credit, crypto-currencies and related services, derivative contracts, payment services, investment services, AML, communication duties vis a vis authorities, distribution schemes, marketing arrangements (particularly for third-county firms), factoring, car-leasing, Product governance, marketing of funds to local investors, regulatory aspects concerning the provision of banking services (cash-pooling, bank-accounts and others).
He assisted insurance companies, insurance intermediaries and banks in the set-up and launch of their ancillary businesses (non-insurance assistance, car-sharing, car-hailing, fleet management, car-leasing).

He has participated in public consultations on regulations, covering: IDD, outsourcing by insurance companies, IBIPs (unit-linked policies), transparency of insurance policies, black boxes, home insurance, comparison of motor TPL tariffs, conflict of interest, complaints handling, passive reinsurance, anti-fraud in the motor TPL sector, distance marketing and CPI life products.
He joined the firm in 2001 and completed two secondments since joining us, including placements in the Milan offices of Marsh and AIG.
