Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented a syndicate of lenders, including CIFI Latam, S.A., CIFI Sustainable Debt Fund L.P. and two funds of the Triodos Asset Management group, in the US$31.3 million financing of 14 solar distributed energy projects in Brazil.
With a total installed capacity of 39.7MWp, the solar projects support efforts to advance renewable energy and sustainable development in the region. CIFI projections indicate the projects could mitigate more than 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually and that the energy generated will benefit more than 25,000 people.
The portfolio is developed by AXS Energia, a subsidiary of Grupo Roca with more than 300MWp of solar energy currently in its pipeline.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by José Cobena and included Cameron Royse (São Paulo) and Sarah Devine (Washington, DC).
