Norton Rose Fulbright represents Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank on US$532 million loan facility

Global Business July 2024

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (Crédit Agricole CIB) as lender and mandated lead arranger in the US$532 million financing for Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile’s (CODELCO) energy matrix transition.

Guaranteed by Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the loan will be used to support payments under power purchase agreements (PPAs) with third-party producers that supply electricity to CODELCO exclusively from renewable sources. CODELCO, Chile's state-owned copper company, aims to decarbonize 100 percent of its energy matrix by 2030.

Norton Rose Fulbright’s deal team was led by José Cobeña with assistance from paralegal Juliana Liano Souza (São Paulo).
