Q. Andy Guo, PhD
Biography
Andy Guo has a PhD in Translational Biology and Molecular Medicine, and his practice areas include intellectual property (IP) transactions, patent prosecution and patent litigation.
Andy had a fruitful career in academic technology transfer for about six years before joining the firm. He is experienced with evaluating inventions and communicating with researchers, cultivating industry-academia partnerships and commercializing a wide variety of life science and healthcare inventions, such as therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and research tools. He understands the unique aspects of academic technology transfer. After joining the firm, Andy has experience advising research institutions on strategic IP transaction matters and complex commercialization-related IP questions.
While in law school, Andy authored two award-winning papers on patent litigation and licensing topics, one of which was published in the Houston Law Review.
While completing his PhD degree, Andy conducted neuroscience research and published first-author and co-author peer-reviewed scientific papers.
