Mike Knapper is an intellectual property and technology lawyer based in our London office. He is Head of Intellectual Property, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Mike specialises in commercial arrangements involving intellectual property, technology and data, including rights acquisitions, licensing, research and collaborations, technology development, procurement, outsourcing and supply chain agreements and a range of other commercial contracts.  He advises across a number of sectors, including consumer markets, energy, sports, financial services, technology and life sciences.

He regularly advises on large-scale, multi-jurisdictional business separation and carve-out transactions, as well as on the IP and IT aspects of M&A, joint ventures and IPOs more generally.

Mike also advises on strategies for the protection and exploitation of innovation and brands (including in relation to trade marks, copyright, patents and trade secrets) and on IP structuring arrangements.

Mike joined the firm in 1998 and was made a partner in 2006, after a period working in-house at The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters), where he was assistant European Counsel.
