Cross-border teams advise on three winning deals at IJInvestor Awards 2024

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised on three winning deals at the IJInvestor Awards 2024 across the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa regions.
The IJInvestor Awards recognise and celebrate the deals, companies and individuals that represent the most outstanding funds and M&A activity in the energy and infrastructure sectors globally over a 12-month period.
Norton Rose Fulbright team members from across eight international offices advised on the winning deals which were awarded at a ceremony in London on November 28.
The winning deals include:
Oil and Gas Acquisition of the Year, Asia Pacific: Tokyo Gas’ sale of interests in four LNG projects
Led by: George Gibson, Martin Irwin, Julian Traill, Troy McKelvie, Alistair Black and Nick Sinclair
- A multidisciplinary Norton Rose Fulbright team advised Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Gas) and related entities on the sale of its minority interests in four Australian liquified natural gas (LNG) projects. The sale and proceeds of its minority interests in the Australian projects will enable Tokyo Gas to continue to invest in its efforts towards the energy transition and help support its other important objectives as set out in its most recent medium-term management plan.
Oil and Gas Acquisition of the Year, Middle East: ADNOC and bp gas joint venture in Egypt
Led by: Hussain Kubba, Andrew Davies and Nicolas Sirtoli
- A cross-border team advised bp on its entry into agreements for the formation of a new joint venture (JV) in Egypt with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). bp, which will have a 51 percent stake in the JV, and ADNOC, which will have a 49 percent stake in the JV, aim to grow a highly competitive gas portfolio. bp will contribute its interests in three development concessions to the JV, as well as exploration agreements, and ADNOC will make a proportionate cash contribution.
Digital Infrastructure Acquistion of the Year, Africa: AIIM and N+ONE DATACENTERS joint venture

- Advised African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) on its joint venture with N+ONE DATACENTERS. AIIM and N+ONE joined forces to develop a new Pan-African data center and cloud services platform with a short-term target capacity of 40 MW. The platform will focus on the development of hyperscale and wholesale carrier-neutral facilities to provide solutions to enterprise, government and hyperscale customers across the continent.
