Frankfurt Team advises enercity on the conclusion of a syndicated credit facility

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised enercity Aktiengesellschaft (enercity) on the conclusion of a syndicated credit facility.
The loan funds will finance the acquisition of a wind farm portfolio in Germany, consisting of 60 onshore wind farms with a capacity of 365 MW. The wind farms can supply around 240,000 households with electricity.
enercity, headquartered in Hanover, is a nationwide energy service provider which supplies around one million people with electricity, heat and water. It also offers energy services in the areas of electromobility, decentralised energy generation, energy efficiency, telecommunications and smart infrastructure. With an annual turnover of more than €5bn (financial year 2021) and around 3,000 employees, enercity is one of the largest municipal energy service providers in Germany.
With the acquisition of the wind farm portfolio, enercity furthers its ambitious ‘Energiewende’ energy transformation goals and moves towards being to one of the leading player in onshore wind capacity in Germany.
