United Kingdom | Press release - Business | March 2023
Norton Rose Fulbright has welcomed new partner Christian Lambie to its London capital markets team.
Christian is a securitisation lawyer with over 25 years of experience. He joins from Morgan Stanley, where he was legal counsel, and is a former partner at Allen & Overy.
Christian focuses primarily on structured finance and securitisation transactions – with an emphasis on commercial real estate (CMBS) financing, corporate finance, and trade receivables and mortgage funding (RMBS) transactions - as well as restructuring and distressed transactions. He has advised on a number of market-first transactions and has significant cross-border experience.
As part of the wider banking and finance team, Christian will work closely alongside London-based securitisation partner David Shearer, as well as capital markets and other finance lawyers from across the firm’s more than 50 global offices.
Madhavi Gosavi, EMEA head of banking and finance at Norton Rose Fulbright, said:
"We are delighted to have Christian join us during this period of strong demand and ongoing growth in the capital markets team. Christian is a highly respected and extremely experienced securitisation lawyer and his appointment will further enhance our market-leading capabilities in capital markets, ensuring that we can continue to provide an unrivalled service to our global clients."
David Shearer, securitisation partner in the London office at Norton Rose Fulbright, said:
"I am delighted that Christian Lambie is joining our team. We are committed to growing our securitisation practice with talented lawyers who provide our clients with legally excellent and commercially useful advice and Christian typifies that quality. His hire both demonstrates and enhances the quality and breadth of our securitisation offering and we are both excited about working together to deliver the future success of the Norton Rose Fulbright securitisation team."
Norton Rose Fulbright’s capital markets practice is going from strength to strength, having recently hired derivatives partner Yusuf Battiwala in London and debt capital markets partner Hamed Afzal in Dubai.
The firm’s capital markets lawyers - who advise some of the world’s largest corporations - cover the full range of equity and debt capital markets matters, ranging from securitisation and derivatives to domestic and international equity offerings and multiple listings for large multinationals, as well as investment grade and high-yield debt transactions for sovereigns, banks, export credit agencies, multilaterals, institutional investors and international companies.
