Firm appointed to FSCS legal panel

United Kingdom Press release - Business January 2023

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has been appointed to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme’s (FSCS) legal panel, effective as of January 2023.

The FSCS is the UK's statutory compensation scheme for customers of authorised financial services firms, set up by the UK government in 2001 and funded by the financial services industry.

Following a rigorous procurement process, eight law firms were selected to form the new legal panel. The panel will last for three years, with an option to extend the appointments for a further 12 months, and consists of three areas of work – core legal services, Scots law, and HR and employment advice. Norton Rose Fulbright has been appointed to advise FSCS on its core legal services.

Katie Stephen, financial services partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, commented: “We’re delighted to have been appointed by FSCS to advise on its core legal services. We look forward to working with FSCS to help it meet its strategic priorities and objectives amid the challenging economic and regulatory landscape.”

Casey McGrath, Head of Legal at FSCS said:  “We’re pleased to welcome Norton Rose Fulbright to our new legal panel.  We’re looking forward to working with the firm, a new addition to our panel, who will join seven other new and returning firms invited to make up the FSCS legal panel from January 2023.  The number and quality of applicants to our panel procurement made for an exceptionally strong field, which is testament to the quality and impact of FSCS’s legal work.”
