Norton Rose Fulbright advises Mercer on SECOR Asset Management acquisition

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Marsh McLennan’s Mercer division on its acquisition of SECOR Asset Management (SECOR).

Mercer is a global consulting firm focusing on investment, talent, health and retirement solutions. SECOR provides institutional investors with bespoke strategic and portfolio solutions, including investment advisory and implementation, fiduciary management and asset liability management.

The transaction, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, is subject to regulatory approvals and client consents.

As part of the agreement, employees in SECOR’s New York and London offices will join Mercer upon completion of the transaction.

Norton Rose Fulbright advised Mercer on all aspects of the deal. Partner David Barrett and senior counsel Bill Stelwagon led on the US elements, while partner Matt Foster and counsel Matthew O’Shea provided advice on the UK aspects. Norton Rose Fulbright also advised Mercer on its acquisition of Cardano in 2024.
