December has been a very busy month, with a flurry of new government policies and consultations.
COVID-19 workplace safety grants available

Michigan announced a second round of funding for the Michigan COVID-19 Safety Grant Program to provide small businesses with matching funds of up to $10,000 to decrease risk through health and safety-related equipment purchases and training.
The grant application window was open from June 7 through June 18, with a potential third phase if funds remained available.
Applicants must have fewer than 250 employees, provide their COVID-19 safety plan, and describe how the grant would improve workplace safety for employees and customers.
Grant monies can be utilized to:
- Purchase health and safety supplies such as sneeze guards, physical barriers, face coverings and hand washing/hygiene stations.
- Purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gowns, gloves and eye protection.
- Train employees about the potential spread and dangers of COVID-19.

Essential Corporate News – Week ending 20 December 2024
On 13 December 2024 the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published Primary Market Bulletin 53 (PMB 53) which includes confirmation of the final form of two new, and one amended, sponsor-related technical notes previously consulted on in PMB 50, and a consultation on various proposed changes to the technical and procedural notes in the FCA’s knowledge base.

Dashboards update: webinars hosted by Pensions Regulator and Money and Pensions Service
The Regulator has provided a link to its dashboard webinar held on November 26, 2024, which it urges scheme trustees to watch. The Money and Pensions Service also collaborated with the Pensions Dashboard Programme to host a “town hall” dashboard event on December 2, 2024.
