Strive and Thrive
Norton Rose Fulbright LLP is proud to announce details of an insight day dedicated to undergraduates and recent graduates of Black heritage called “Strive and Thrive”. The aspiring Black lawyers insight day is taking place on Thursday 14th November 2024 and is aimed at reaching Black and Black heritage students who aspire to achieve a career in commercial law. The day will involve insightful workshops and engaging discussions with lawyers at all levels. The event aims to further the firm’s target of increasing the attraction and retention of Black talent.
Strive and Thrive offers
- An insightful roundtable session and Q&A with the firm’s Black and Black heritage Partners;
- A vacation scheme and training contract application bootcamp;
- An interactive junior lawyer panel;
- Deal case studies showcasing the firm’s corporate, banking and litigation practices across a range of key industry sectors;
- Networking opportunities with the firm’s lawyers and business professional employees;
- Lunch and an office tour; and
- The opportunity to be considered and fast-tracked for the firm’s 2025 summer vacation scheme and Training Contract. This would mean that you when you apply for one of our programmes, you will be progressed to the screening stage of our assessment process.
Eligibility
This programme is aimed primarily at penultimate year or final year students and recent graduates from all degree disciplines of Black and Black heritage seeking an insight into a career in Law. By Black and Black heritage, we mean students who might identify as Black, African, Caribbean, Black British or Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups: White and Black Caribbean, White and Black African. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about our business and develop your professional skills.
Application Process
- Upon submitting your online application form, you will be invited to complete a bespoke online test, a behaviour based gamification software, tailored to NRF.
- If you meet the minimum benchmark for our online test, your application will be screened against our criteria and if successful you will be invited to attend the event.

Yes the firm will reimburse travel and you will be sent further details of this once your space has been confirmed.
What does fast-tracking mean?
When you come to apply for our Summer Vacation Scheme, your application will automatically be moved to the screening stage of our process.
How many NRF opportunities you can apply to at the same time?
As this is a seperate to our formal programmes you are eligible to apply to both.
