Paris team advises Biogy’s co-founders on the sale of a majority stake in their share capital
EMEA | Press release - Business | January 2024
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Biogy’s co-founders on the sale to Evergaz Group of a majority stake in the company’s share capital, a methanisation unit located in Etrun, in Pas-de-Calais (62).
The methanisation unit uses agricultural and agri-food inputs from Hauts de France for a biomethane injection capacity of 400 Nm3/h, the equivalent of the annual gas consumption of nearly 3,700 households.
The Evergaz Group, an independent player in biogas production in Europe, has been operating and managing the plant’s supplies since November 2023, relying on the expertise of the three operators who remain minority shareholders and who will continue to supply inputs to Biogy in the long term. In return for digestate, a natural fertilizer from the methanisation process.
The Paris-based Norton Rose Fulbright team advising the co-founders on the project and corporate aspects of this transaction was led by energy Partner Arnaud Bélisaire, assisted by Associate Diane Dusserre and Paralegal Carl El Kalaani. Associate Elodie Grangier also advised Biogy’s co-founders on the labor and employment law aspects of the transaction.
