Norton Rose Fulbright expands in Paris with new partner hire

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is strengthening its Corporate, M&A and Securities practice in Paris with a new hire. Jean-Claude Rivalland will join the firm as a partner on July 1, 2023.

With over 30 years of M&A experience in the Paris market, particularly in the banking, consumer markets and media sectors, Jean-Claude Rivalland will support the development of Norton Rose Fulbright's M&A practice in Paris, alongside the office’s three other M&A partners, Karine Montagut, Pierre François and France corporate head Bénédicte Denis. His experience complements the team’s strong track record in insurance, banking, technology and healthcare. 

Jean-Claude Rivalland primarily advises clients on acquisitions and sales of private and public companies, with a particular focus on cross-border transactions. He has in-depth market knowledge and significant negotiating experience, having been involved in a number of transactions for major French banks as well as several foreign institutions.  

Jean-Claude Rivalland began his career at Gide where he was promoted to partner in 1996. He joined in 1999 the Paris office of Allen & Overy of which he was one of the founding partners, then managing partner between 2010 and 2018. 

Jean-Claude Rivalland's arrival brings Norton Rose Fulbright's Corporate team in Paris to nine partners and 25 associates, reflecting the firm's ongoing investment in the practice.
