German team advises STRABAG Real Estate and ECE on sale of the Rossio office building in the MesseCity Cologne

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised the joint venture partners of the MesseCity Cologne, STRABAG Real Estate and ECE Work & Live, on the sale of the Rossio office building to the city of Cologne for 270 million euros. This is the largest office transaction in Cologne since 2021.

MesseCity Cologne is a major construction project in the Cologne district Deutz, in which a modern business district with a total gross floor area of 135,000 square meters is being built between the southern entrance to the trade fair and the ICE train station in Cologne-Deutz on an area of around 5.4 hectares. The Rossio office complex has a usable area of around 26,000 square meters and is located directly on Deutz-Mülheimer-Strasse. After its completion in 2026, the offices will be used for municipal departments.

STRABAG Real Estate and ECE were advised by a Hamburg-based Norton Rose Fulbright team consisting of Patrick Narr (Partner) and Dr. Karsten Alex (Counsel). As part of the MesseCity Cologne project, the firm had previously advised the two joint venture partners on the West 1-3 office complex and the West 4 hotel ensemble.
