Biography
Liam Oster is a senior associate practising in our real estate team and business law group. He represents a wide range of clients on matters involving real estate development, commercial leasing, property management, and related transactions.
Liam has represented commercial property owners in a wide variety of transactions, including acquisitions, sales, financing, leasing and operation of various unique large-scale projects across Canada. These transactions have included hotels and resorts, shopping centres, laboratories, food, drug and cannabis manufacturing facilities, rail facilities, maritime shipping centres, and airports.
In addition to real estate transactions and development, Liam regularly advises private and publicly traded businesses on various corporate and commercial issues, including structuring of limited partnerships and other corporate vehicles, financing, municipal zoning, regulatory compliance, environmental issues, and Indigenous participation in commercial projects.

Representative matters in which Liam has been involved include acting for:
- a North American hemp products manufacturer in structuring and implementing Canadian and US white label and drop-shipping operations, and related capital financing;
- a BC non-profit developer with initial structuring, acquisition, financing, development, and rental of multiple Vancouver-based social housing projects;
- a Canadian cannabis edibles manufacturer on ongoing regulatory compliance, product R&D, brand licensing, supply and distribution contracts, and related transactional work;
- various commercial landlords and tenants in office buildings, industrial warehousing and production space, and development properties in relation to a broad range of leasing matters;
- various private lenders and mortgage brokers with respect to structuring, registration, and ongoing regulatory compliance under BC and federal financial regulations, and related transactional work.
