Biography
Tiana Corovic is an associate in our Toronto office whose practice involves privacy, information governance, technology and cybersecurity matters, as well as general corporate matters.
She advises clients on complying with Canada’s privacy and anti-spam legislation (CASL), responding to privacy and access complaints and regulatory inquiries. She also advises clients on risk management strategies involving data and technology, including SaaS and technology development, and corporate mergers and acquisitions, with respect to IT, privacy and various other technology aspects.
Tiana has considerable experience acting as breach counsel to clients responding to local and international cybersecurity incidents, including ransomware attacks, cyber extortion, business email compromises, phishing attacks and inadvertent disclosures. As part of her cybersecurity practice, she works with clients to develop and implement cyber preparedness strategies and coordinate local and global notification and regulatory filings.
Tiana joined us as a summer student in 2019 and returned to complete her articles in 2020-2021. During her articling term, Tiana was seconded to the Royal Bank of Canada where she assisted with various corporate and commercial matters.
While in law school, Tiana served as the co-president of the Litigation Association and was actively involved in the criminal division at Downtown Legal Services. She also worked as a research assistant in global health affairs at the Rotman School of Management.
