Biography

Joyce Chang is an associate on the capital markets team in our Calgary office. Her practice focuses on banking, corporate finance and restructuring. Joyce has experience on a broad range of syndicated and bilateral financings, capital markets debt offerings, and acquisition and project financings. She is also regularly involved in asset-backed lending and international and domestic insolvency and restructuring matters. Joyce acts for corporate borrowers, as well as national and international lenders and arrangers.

Before joining us as a summer student in 2019, Joyce worked in the legal department of a multinational energy transportation company and was an auditor at two prominent accounting firms.

  • Administrative agent and a syndicate of lenders on the establishment of a C$2 billion senior unsecured revolving credit facility in favour of an energy infrastructure corporation
  • Initial purchasers and agents in connection with offerings by an energy infrastructure corporation of US and Canadian senior unsecured notes and US junior notes
  • International fuel distribution corporation with the financing of its electric vehicle charging infrastructure
  • Administrative agent and a syndicate of lenders on the establishment of senior secured term and revolving credit facilities in favour of an energy infrastructure corporation, including establishment of a global security package
  • One of the world’s largest fund management and investment firm specializing in renewable energy infrastructure, on its financing of the 465MW Travers solar power project in Southern Alberta
  • International fuel distribution corporation in connection with its senior secured credit agreement with aggregate commitments in excess of C$1 billion and private offerings of US and Canadian notes
  • Secured creditor in the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act proceedings of one of its debtors, including in its capacity as an interim lender under debtor-in-possession financing arrangements
