Biography

Matthias Zimmermann is a banking lawyer based in our Munich office.

Matthias advises lenders as well as sponsors and project companies on infrastructure, PPP/PFI, renewable energy projects and real estate in both domestic and international transactions.

He also advises lessors and lessees, sponsors/project companies and other companies in complex national and international financing and leasing
transactions, in particular with regard to aircrafts.

Matthias holds a law degree of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. During his traineeship he worked in Munich and London.

He is a member of the Munich Bar Association. Matthias is a German native speaker and he is fluent in English.

  • Advising an international banking consortium on the financing of a highly innovative geothermal energy project.
  • Advising a banking consortium on the financing of electric charging infrastructure in Germany (Deutschlandnetz).
  • Advising Total on acquisition of interest in 640MW offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
  • Advising NTT Leasing on the financing of five Airbus A320NEO aircraft.
  • Advising lenders on PPP project for police headquarters southeast Hesse.
  • Advising Alpha Bank on one of the first financing of greenfield onshore wind power under the new Greek support scheme for renewable electricity.
