Biography

Pierre Duquette has many years of experience with complex litigation matters. He represents clients involved in civil and commercial litigation. He also represents clients dealing with judicial reviews involving public bodies. He frequently acts in matters involving provisional, interlocutory and permanent injunctions. Pierre also regularly deals with matters relating to civil liability, environmental issues, restrictive covenants, defamation and professional liability.

On top of his regular commercial litigation practice, he recently has represented with success municipalities in an action against the Communauté Métropolitaine de Québec to invalidate some restrictive regulations based on the lack of scientific background to said regulations. He also has represented the City of L'Isle Verte during the public inquiry into a deadly fire involving the work performed by firefighters of the municipality. Mr. Duquette represents clients before all courts of Quebec, including the Court of Quebec, the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as certain administrative tribunals. He is particularly knowledgeable about all aspects of civil procedure, and taught for several years at the Quebec Bar School and gives lectures for the Quebec Bar.
