Canada | Press release | November 12, 2019
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is pleased to announce that its Toronto office has moved to a modern new space that will help the firm to better serve its clients while providing an optimal work environment for its lawyers and staff.
The new space is bright, collaborative and dynamic, underscoring Norton Rose Fulbright’s commitment to innovation and collaboration.
Located at 222 Bay Street in the iconic TD Centre in the city’s financial district, Norton Rose Fulbright’s new office occupies the top four and a half floors of the building in a complex designed by modernist architecture pioneer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
Equipped with the latest technology and communal hubs to support smarter ways of working, the new space was designed by Lehman Smith McLeish (LSM), a global architectural design firm known for visionary workplaces and organizational change.
Terence Dobbin, Managing Partner of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Toronto office, commented:
“We are delighted with our new office, which provides us with a truly modern, vibrant and collaborative working environment which is reflective of our brand and our people. We challenged ourselves with the design, asking ‘How can we do it better and differently?' We are thrilled with the outcome and are certain that it positions us for the future.
The new office reflects our commitment to continue to provide the highest quality service to our clients along with continued business transformation and growth. We are confident that it will bolster the attraction, retention and contribution of our talent.”
Evelyn Papoutsakis, Human Resources Director, added:
“The nature of work has changed dramatically in the last decade due to technology – and so has our industry. As a result, how our people accomplish their work has evolved. The new space gives our people the tools and surroundings they need to feel engaged and do their best work for clients. Its flexibility lends itself to our cross-functional teams and encourages continuous collaboration.”
Key highlights of the new space include:
- Elevator doors open directly into a sophisticated two-storey reception area with exposed steel beams
- Glass offices allow light to move through the office seamlessly
- Enhanced workspace amenities, including moveable touchscreen monitors and laptops, improved videoconferencing capabilities and sit/stand desks
- Colourful, contemporary Canadian art graces the corridors and boardrooms
- Two wellness rooms for personal needs
Norton Rose Fulbright has offices in six cities in Canada, including Toronto, where the firm has provided representation for more than 20 years and has grown to more than 200 lawyers. Toronto is a major hub for Canada’s business community and one of the largest North American financial service centers.
