On May 26, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) once more extended most patent, trademark and industrial design deadlines falling between March 16, 2020, and June 12, 2020, which means they are currently extended to the next working day, i.e., June 15.

CIPO may further extend deadlines beyond this date, because the CIPO announcement includes the warning: “It should still be noted that if the circumstances that led to the designation of these days continue, the Commissioner, Registrar and Minister may decide to extend the period of time for which days are designated.”
CIPO remains open for business and most deadlines can be met by filing electronically.
We will continue to monitor the situation and advise you accordingly.
