Our Vancouver office acted for BC Green Pharmaceuticals Inc., a producer of legal cannabis at its custom-built cultivation facility in Princeton, BC, securing an operating and a term loan facility from Royal Bank of Canada. The credit facilities were used for general corporate purposes and to repay investor shareholder loans. We negotiated the credit agreement and security documentation. 

We believe this transaction represents one of the first financings offered by a Canadian chartered bank to a cannabis producer in Western Canada. We anticipate this financing will serve as a template for future financings made available by chartered banks to cannabis-producing businesses.
