Biography

Nathaniel Misri is a partner in our business law group, where he practices in transactional, corporate and commercial law matters for a variety of clients in a number of industry sectors. He has acted on a number of high-profile M&A transactions, corporate reorganizations, financings and commercial contracts. Mr. Misri has also had the privilege of practicing in-house for one of the firm's global clients and as a result, he has unique insight on how to best support clients with internal counsel roles.

After finishing his studies in Eastern Canada and New York, Mr. Misri clerked for the British Columbia Supreme Court. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced in the financial services group of a prominent Calgary law firm.

Mr. Misri is involved in the legal and his broader community, sitting on two not-for-profit boards and leading the firm’s solicitor’s pro-bono practice. He is a current member of the editorial board of Advising British Columbia Businesses.

Mr. Misri is qualified to practice law in Alberta, British Columbia and New York (non-practicing status).

  • Seaspan Corporation on a number of strategic, transactional and commercial mandates in connection with its containership management and ownership business.
  • Seaspan Ferries in its financing of certain RORO vessels.
  • Tidewater Canada in its acquisition of marine industrial services provider Island Tug and Barge.
  • Hexagon, a global publicly traded software technologies company, on a number of private company acquisitions in a variety of industry sectors.
  • STgenetics on a number of strategic, transactional and commercial mandates in connection with its genetics businesses in Canada.
  • TELUS on a number of private company acquisitions in the healthcare, home security and telecommunications sectors.
  • Stern Partners on a number of private company acquisitions in a variety of industry sectors.
  • EverWind Fuels on a number of strategic, transactional and commercial mandates in connection with its renewable energy solutions business.
  • The owners of Coastal Pacific Xpress in connection with their sale to VersaCold Logistics Services. The transaction earned British Columbia Association for Corporate Growth’s "Dealmakers of the Year" award.
