Fundraising for Special Olympics launches with Canadian Canoe Challenge

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright is delighted to announce the launch of its 2015-16 fund-raising challenge with Special Olympics. The launch will see Norton Rose Fulbright host the Great Canadian Canoe Challenge from September 18-20, 2015.

Over a hundred Norton Rose Fulbright partners and employees from over 20 offices in more than 10 countries will take part in the Great Canadian Canoe Challenge that will take place at Arrowhead Camp, located on the shore of the Muskoka Lake of Bays, between Algonquin Park and Huntsville. Canoeists will be paddling for five hours a day, in two-person open canoes over a two-day period, exploring the lakes and rivers of this spectacular landscape.

Peter Martyr, global chief executive, commented: “We are delighted to support Special Olympics and over the next 12 months, Norton Rose Fulbright aims to raise $250,000 through a series of global fundraising events and initiatives. The Great Canadian Canoe Challenge will get us off to a tremendous start.”

The Great Canadian Canoe Challenge follows the success of Norton Rose Fulbright’s participation in last year’s BP MS 150 annual charity bike ride, the largest bike ride for multiple sclerosis in North America.
