Biography

Michael Gu is a litigation lawyer based in Melbourne.  He specialises in insolvency, regulatory investigations, and complex commercial disputes in the financial services and insurance sectors.

Michael acts for regulators, government departments, companies, and directors in investigations and civil proceedings.  His experience includes matters involving financial services disclosure, market listing rules, conflicted remuneration, directors’ duties, unfair contract terms, and misleading or deceptive conduct. 

Michael also acts in complex commercial contract and property disputes and oppression proceedings for companies and high net worth individuals.  He acts in insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of creditors and interested parties, and has advised receivers, administrators, and liquidators in their conduct of corporate insolvencies.
