LGBTIQ+ inclusion
We strive to create an inclusive culture for LGBTIQ+ identifying colleagues, one that encourages people to bring their whole self to work each and every day and that instils a sense of belonging for all.
We have an established Pride Network and we are proud to be a member of Pride in Diversity, Australia’s first and only not-for-profit workplace program designed specifically to assist employers with all aspects of LGBTIQ+ inclusion. In 2022 we were again named a silver employer in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI).
We have designed our own Norton Rose Fulbright Gender Affirmation Guidelines that outline the structures for people wanting to affirm their gender and those who have had a transgender experience. We understand that trans and gender diverse candidates applying to work with us may like to have a conversation with us. The talent and recruitment team are open to having these conversations.
Our Pride Network hosts a range of events throughout the year for IDAHOBIT Day, Wear It Purple, Mardi Gras, Global Inclusion Month and World AIDS Day. We have a bespoke Norton Rose Fulbright e-learning module called Embracing Pride that upskills our people to be active and effective allies and to understand inclusive language. In 2023 we launched our first LGBTIQ+ Mentoring program, Pride in Progress to support our LGBTIQ+ colleagues with career conversations and advice.
In 2024 we were honoured to be named as a Gold Employer in the Australian LGBTQ+ Inclusion Awards. The benchmark sets the standard for LGBTQ+ inclusion in workplaces and provides a roadmap for businesses to follow to achieve greater inclusion for LGBTQ+ colleagues, clients and community.
