Biography
Sarah Alford is a commercial lawyer based in Melbourne.
Sarah has a broad legal background in private practice, that encompasses general commercial, franchising, competition, consumer, entertainment, intellectual property and property law experience.
Sarah has advised franchisors, small and individual artists, independent game developers, and not for profit organisations with a variety of general commercial, franchising and intellectual property and technology matters. These include intellectual property and technology licensing and assignment agreements, service and supply agreements and chain of title letters.
Sarah assists with the operation of franchising files, which vary from preparing and issuing documents to franchisees, drafting disclosure documents, advising in relation to compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct, assisting with the resolution of disputes, business transfers and asset sale agreements.
Whilst franchising and general commercial law are the key aspects of Sarah's day-to-day practice, Sarah has advised in relation to branding, misleading or deceptive conduct, general consumer and competition law matters in relation to trade promotions and the content of franchise disclosure documents and business operations generally.
