Biography
Connor Kense practises corporate and commercial law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities law. Connor regularly advises clients on cross-border as well as domestic transactions. He also assists clients with corporate governance, continuous disclosure, regulatory compliance and general corporate matters.
During his articles, Connor completed a secondment with Imperial Oil Ltd., where he worked on a variety of matters in the oil and gas sector. During law school, he volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and the Queen’s Law Journal, and received the Medal in Law for achieving the second highest overall average in his class. He also spent a semester studying law at the University of Hong Kong in 2014.
Prior to law school, Connor worked in banking and corporate restructuring, with a focus on the administration of corporate bankruptcies and receiverships.

- Deltastream Energy Corporation, a portfolio company of ARC Financial, on its sale to Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. for $1.425 billion
- Solium Capital Inc. on its sale to Morgan Stanley by way of a plan of arrangement for a transaction value of $1.1 billion
- Benevity on its sale to UK private equity firm Hg Capital LLP
- Benevity on its acquisition of Alaya SA, a European-based provider of employee engagement "software as a service" platforms
- RBC Dominion Securities Inc. as lead underwriter for the offering by Strathcona Resources Ltd. of US$500 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes
- A Canadian-based private equity firm on various acquisitions of private companies in Canada and the United States, and the creation of a private investment fund to provide debt financing to its portfolio companies
- Parkland Corporation on its offering of US$800 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes
- A large, TSX-listed company on its successful defence against an activist shareholder
