Biography
Pier-Olivier Poisson’s practice focuses on business law, M&A and securities, with a particular emphasis on financial institutions and intermediaries. He heads the firm’s financial services and regulation practice in Quebec.
Pier-Olivier takes a special interest in the regulation of markets, financial institutions and intermediaries, as well as financial products and services. He advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, new technologies, prudential regulation, corporate governance, risk management and regulatory compliance. He helps financial institutions and intermediaries obtain or maintain regulatory approvals, and regularly advises clients in the context of investigations conducted by regulatory authorities.
He also acts on behalf of banks, insurers, managing general agents (MGAs), insurance brokers, firms, portfolio advisors, trust companies, portfolio managers, mortgage brokers and private lenders.
