Beyond MiCA: European regulatory regime for crypto-assets
Event Details
Webinar
Global | 13. Juli 2023The long-awaited European regulation on markets for crypto-assets (MiCA) has been adopted and will become applicable in 2024. However, it is not the only piece of European legislation that participants in crypto-asset markets will need to be ready for.
The Transfer of Funds Regulation, adopted alongside MiCA and due to become applicable at the same time, implements in European law a controversial “travel rule” for transfers of crypto-assets. In addition, the European Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), applicable in January 2025, sets out a complex regime concerning management of information and communication (ICT) risks, including management of ICT third-party risks.
In this short webinar, our European crypto regulation team will discuss:
- Key requirements for crypto-asset market participants as they enter the European regulatory perimeter
- Relevant timelines
- Practical insights on managing compliance readiness
- Varying approaches to crypto-assets regulation and supervision in the Netherlands, France and Belgium
- How approaches across Europe compare with the evolving UK regime
We will close the webinar with a short Q&A so please do come with your questions.
