Biography
Seema Mishra is a taxation lawyer based in Sydney.
Seema has over 15 years of experience in practising taxation law in the areas of federal income tax, goods and services tax and state taxes.
Seema has worked across a range of industries, with a particular focus on the property and construction, government, funds and financial services sectors. She has advised domestic and multi-national organisations in relation to a spectrum of issues, including the direct and indirect tax implications of establishing business operations in Australia, cross-border considerations, property sale agreements and collective investment vehicles. She is also involved in class ruling and private ruling applications, ATO and State Revenue Office audits and objections.
In addition, Seema regularly advises clients in the not-for-profit sector, including on matters relating to the structuring, funding and operation of charities and not-for-profit organisations. She has also worked with clients to establish philanthropic funds. She is currently a member of the Tax Institute's Not-for-profit Technical Committee and is actively involved with changes to the sector.
Seema's experience has included both domestic and international secondments. She has authored a number of articles and publications, and is a contributor to the Australian Tax Handbook (published by Thomson Reuters).
